Kaos World Chronicles Book 7 Homeless - Standard
Welcome to the next installment of Kaos World Chronicles. These books are again aimed at KS3-4, high-interest, low-reading age stories.
Kaos World Chronicles – A structured literacy scheme for KS3-4 students - The Next Level
This comprehensive literacy scheme is structured around a series of high interest, low-reading age stories designed specifically to appeal to older students, including those in special schools (BESD). The page-turning stories are set in a future post-apocalyptic world where law and order and life as we know it have broken down. The stories feature two main characters, Travis and Spanna, and are illustrated throughout with atmospheric and gritty illustrations. Welcome to the next installment.
The reading books are supported by books of structured worksheets (available seperately - ACMT12624) which offer small, achievable steps by way of word, sentence and text activities. There are also monitor sheets and objective sheets which provide targets and record progress, and certificates with which to reward and motivate students.
Each reading book is A5 with 24 pages and black and white illustrations.
Lucas Wellington has been teaching students with BESD in inner city Bristol schools for the last 10 years and is currently part of the senior leadership team of the North Bristol BESD school. For four of these years he was Literacy Co-ordinator, so was involved in buying suitable and engaging reading material, co-ordinating reading intervention programmes and promoting literacy across the school. His dismay at the suitability of the books available for such students led to him creating his own materials to develop literacy, as he became well aware that poor literacy and the stress this causes is a major cause of unsettled behaviour in classrooms.
